Do you have an easily targeted market? If you don⠙t, you will fail.
Basically the whole key to marketing online is having an easily targeted market. To be blunt, if your market is hard to find, you will not make any money online. You may be very surprised at how you can misjudge your own market and what your market actually wants.

So many people are looking for a product to sell online. Come on admit it- you have probably been doing this. The best advice I can give don⠙t look for a product to sell online. Look for a market to sell to online that is large and easy to get to. Find a product that this market actually wants. This is the only way to guarantee instant success even before you launch your product. Think it through. It really makes sense when you break it down. It really does seem so simple, yet so many online marketers make the mistake looking for the ⠘right product⠝ to sell online.

Think about who exactly wants to buy your product. Not who needs your product, but who wants to buy it. If you can⠙t identify and easily reach that market online, then you will fail.

Where do people who have colds hang out on-line? How do you qualify somebody who has a cold online? There is no specific interest group for colds. Not only do you have to find people with colds, you have a second obstacle you have to overcome. You have to be able to identify the people who are willing to believe in your product and who are willing to purchase it online. Even though this is the ultimate, unbelievable product, it would be a very hard product to sell online. If you put this product in pharmacies across the country, you would probably make billions of dollars. But online you⠙d be lucky if you could make a profit, simply because it is hard to find your target market. Even with spending money on advertising you still won⠙t reach your target market because there is no way to find out who has a cold online and there is no specific place where these people hang out.

However if you had a product that is for people who are interested in making money in their own home-based business, you have a target market that is easy to find. There are newsgroup and email discussion lists and ezines and web sites the list goes on that talk about making money in your own home-based business. It could be a very small market, but you can find out exactly where this market is and where they hang out you can actually make a profit! So, go after your target market and give them what they want and your profits will skyrocket over night. Can you see the power of this? This can be very confusing and a lot of people overlook it because they get so wrapped up in the product and are deeply involved and emotionally involved.
